Business Development Manager
Reporting To: Chief Commercial Officer

Role Overview: We are seeking a unique individual with a solid bioprocess background to drive commercial growth initiatives across our biologic offerings (including mammalian, microbial, and vaccine platforms). The role requires deep technical understanding and the ability to translate client activities into proposals and successfully executed contracts. The specific level (Manager or Director) will be determined by the candidate's experience and proven track record.
Specific Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Execute the business development strategy to support the company's business plan.
- Establish and implement short- and long-term revenue goals, ensuring annual targets are achieved.
- Independently develop new business opportunities by identifying leads and promoting existing client relationships.
- Understand customer needs to ensure accurate, timely, and fair pricing of our proposals.
- Lead the full business development lifecycle, from opportunity identification and proposal development to contract negotiation and closure.
- Research the existing portfolio of current client projects and market trends to recommend business direction to management.
- Organize and participate in audits, conferences, and client meetings for business opportunities.
- Host client visits to the company facility to enhance knowledge of company services and capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement innovative, future-driven solutions.
- Leverage modern sales technologies and CRM platforms to manage pipelines and track opportunities.
Education and Experience
- B.Sc. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutics, Life Science, Chemistry, or Business with relevant knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical biologics product development and manufacturing in a CDMO.
- 5-8+ years' overall professional experience in CDMO, biopharma, or life sciences, with a proven track record in new business development and account management.
- Solid understanding of the drug development process from discovery to clinic and a basic understanding of all inherent GMP requirements.
- A background in protein production, with specific expertise in Antibody development (e.g., monoclonal, bispecific) considered an advantage.
- Experience or demonstrated knowledge of upstream and downstream process development (cell culture, fermentation, chromatography techniques, filtration techniques-TFF).
- Previous CDMO experience is highly desired.

- Ability to work remotely without supervision but with flexibility to travel to the Biodextris facility or client sites when needed.
Others:
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent English skills a must; French is preferential but not required.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms such Pipedrive.
- Comfort with travel, typically throughout North America and Europe, with the possibility of overseas travel. Travel frequency can vary between 10% and 30% of the time.
- This position offers the possibility of a remote office (flex office).
