Bioprocess Technician
Position Summary & role expectations:
Biodextris is seeking a Bioprocess Technician to join our Process Development & Technologies team.
In this role, you will play an essential part in process development activities by ensuring the laboratory is well-organized and fully functional, preparing solutions, materials, and equipment required for the efficient execution of projects leading to GMP-grade clinical materials. This position requires strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, adaptability to changing priorities, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a dynamic and innovative team environment.
You will also take part in the execution of process development and production activities, while having the opportunity to acquire new skills and expand your technical knowledge by learning various methods and technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary tasks include:
- Preparation of buffers, media, and other process-related solutions.
- Preparation, cleaning, and sanitization of materials for development and production activities (e.g., chromatography column packing and diafiltration system preparation).
- Managing laboratory material inventory and equipment.
- Additional tasks may include:
- Participating in process steps, both upstream (microbial fermentation and/or mammalian cell culture) and downstream (various purification steps such as chromatography or diafiltration).
- Performing in-process analytical testing such as SDS-PAGE, western blot, ELISA, PCR, and chromatography.
- Supporting GMP manufacturing activities, including material preparation and participation in cleanroom operations.
- General responsibilities:
- Applying Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for data entries in compliance with Biodextris’ Quality Management System and regulatory standards (e.g., GLP, GMP).
- Generating, compiling, and organizing data for internal reporting.
- Following safe work practices and adhering to company safety policies and guidelines
Education and Experience
DEC or equivalent diploma in a relevant field (Bioprocessing, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related discipline).
0–2 years of relevant experience (recent graduates welcome).
